Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This document outlines important terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your responsibilities during the rental period. In cases of discrepancy between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Failsworth, drivers must be at least 21 years old. Certain vehicle types may have different age requirements, and additional fees may apply for drivers under 25. A valid full driving licence, appropriate for the vehicle category, is required, along with identification and proof of address. Valid payment details and a security deposit are also necessary, as well as any other conditions outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Bookings and Payments
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Failsworth office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment, along with a security deposit, is usually required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, with transactions processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, a thorough inspection is required to identify and report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be completed and must be signed by both parties. The vehicle should be returned in the same condition it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged appropriately. Ensure the fuel level matches what was provided at the start of the rental; otherwise, refueling charges will apply. Late returns may result in additional fees, so please reach out to us promptly if you expect to return the vehicle later than agreed. You will be responsible for any parking tickets, traffic violations, or other charges that occur during your rental period, along with a processing fee.
Insurance and Liability Details
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Comprehensive coverage information and excess amounts can be found in your Rental Agreement. Options for additional insurance may be available to lower your financial risk. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You will be liable for damage or loss up to the excess amount unless additional insurance covers it. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violations of these Terms remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise details, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Please be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited vehicle uses:
- The vehicle may not be used for any illegal activities or purposes. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or engaging in other dangerous driving practices. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle to others or allowing unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle must not be used for purposes it was not designed for, nor should passenger or weight limits be exceeded. Driving outside of the agreed geographical boundaries without prior authorization is also prohibited.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Failsworth is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will be capped at the total amount paid for your rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
Local Legal Framework
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts.
10. Updates to Terms
We can update these Terms as needed. Changes take effect immediately once posted on our website. Continuing to use our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
